Shop Fabrication
Creating piping spools made-to-measure from client-supplied drawings in a controlled environment for better quality bonds. You save costs like hoarding, travel, lodging, and on-site coordination
CWS Fiberglass Technology fabricated the largest shop FRP project in Western Canada. Completing 9km of 40in and 3km of smaller diameter pipe while staying ahead of schedule and under budget. CWS has the ability to shop fabricate FRP/GRE spools 1” to 60” in diameter as an economical alternative to the expenses associated with complete field construction engineer work packages. We can handle spool fabrication projects of any size and have worked with some of the biggest names in the oil and gas industry.
CWS will provide complete QC services as per our internal test plan and our ABSA registered ASME B31.3 quality system. CWS bonding procedures include bonding record sheets, bond mapping both product and spools with unique identifiers, then finally packaging for shipping to site for installation.
Testing services are available, as well as generating isometric drawings for fabrication cut sheets.
Send us your construction drawing package and CWS will supply a complete material take off and provide you with a bill of material and fabrication service quotation.
Fiberglass and steel have very different construction specifications, so CWS will review steel spool dimensions and procure the FRP/GRE for your service application and return a finished product which will last, in many cases, 5 times longer than carbon steel.
Drafting
CWS incorporates an extensive library comprised of composite fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) products drafted with AutoCAD software. CWS offers custom, shop-fabricated products and can use tank size and nozzle orientation to draft AutoCAD drawings for various tank internal applications.
We found CWS to be proactive and prompt in attention given to quality and technical issues.”
